Mason pulled out one more smaller box that had the outdoor lights in it and straightened up once more, ” I’m glad you think so.” he said, ” Maybe when I decide to paint the upstairs hallway, you could give me a hand, help me pick out the colour and paint, only if you want to though of course.” Mason said with a slight shrug of his shoulders. Mason nodded in agreement, ” Good idea, daylight is best for putting up the outdoor lights.” he said. Mason grabbed the box that had the Christmas tree in it and followed her back up the stairs easily, chuckling softly when she told him that they should get a mistletoe and put it up somewhere, he grinned, ” You can already kiss me when ever you want, but if you want a mistletoe we can get one.” Mason said, ” I’ll probably have to go to the hardware store tomorrow anyway and get some replacement light bulbs for the outdoor lights, so we can get one then.” he said, once he got upstairs, he brought the tree box into the living room and headed for the basement to get the other boxes, ” I’ll go get the rest of the boxes.” he said before disappearing down the stairs once more.

When Mason suggested her helping him out with the hallway, she nodded lightly in agreement. “Sure thing. We’re picking a light color though, those hallways are already kinda’ dark to walk down.” She commented, knowing that they’d have to stick to a light color. Marcie beamed slightly when he agreed to getting mistletoe, before she laughed lightly. “I know I can, but that’s good. I’ve never kissed anyone under it before. So congratulations, you can have the honor of being the first.” She grinned over at him before walking into the living room with him following close behind. “Want me to help you with those lights tomorrow?” She asked as she set the box down, before straightening up and placing her hands on her hips. “Ok,” she sighed as he told her he was going to get the rest of the boxes. Once he was out the room, Marcie made her way back over to the couch and sat down, before pulling the box over to her feet. With ease, she opened up the box and started to look through the decorations as she waited for him to get back.
Mason nodded slightly in agreement, ” Yeah definitely, it’s a lot less stress that’s for sure, there’s still a few things I want to fix up and I want to paint the hallway upstairs but it’s not really anything that needs to be done right away.” Mason explained to her, he honestly couldn’t imagine the amount of stress both of them would be under if they decided to find another house, the both of them were busy enough as it is. Mason laughed, ” You’re right, I’m definitely not a Scrooge.” he said, he watched her stand up and hold her hands out to him, he took both her hands and stood up, grinning slightly, ” Again, only you can call me that.” he said, he leaned down and kissed her forehead before he headed for the basement door that was in the hallway, he pulled it open and turned on the light before making his way down the stairs. Mason made his way around to a door under the basement stair and pulled it open as well, revealing all the Christmas decorations. ” Do you want to put lights up around the outside of the house also?” Mason asked her as he pulled out the box that had the tree in it and three other boxes that held the rest of the decorations.

“I like this place, anyway. So, no moving.” She told him, cocking her head to the side slightly. When he told her about painting the hallway upstairs, she nodded slightly. “Nice, i’m sure it’ll look good, you’ve done an half decent job at fixing the place up anyway.” She teased, before following him down the hallway and through the basement door. Marcie made her way down the stairs, before she stood outside the door whilst Mason opened it and started to take out the boxes that were stored inside there. “Mhm, we can do that.” She said, running a hand through her hair before continuing. “Let’s do that tomorrow, though. It’s kinda’ dark outside to do it right now, really.” She suggested, before she bent down to pick up one of the boxes he’d gotten out. “We should be cheesy and buy mistletoe too,” she said, turning around as she began to make her way back up the stairs with the box. “Then I have an excuse to kiss you whenever I want.” She said, looking back at him with a smirk before making her way to the top of the stairs, she then headed back into the living room where she set the first box of decorations down.
Mason looked over at her when she came into the room and sat down next to him, he raised his arm and wrapped it around her shoulders, ” At least there’s only a few more boxes to go through, we’ll be done with those in no time.” he said. He let her have free reign on where she wanted to put her things, he wanted her to be comfortable and think of the house being hers also and not just his, ” I think we could get everything else unpacked by tomorrow night at the latest if we pick it up again tomorrow.” Mason said, he leaned over and gently kissed her cheek. Mason chuckled when she told him that she thought their house was lacking in Christmas decorations, he looked around and nodded, ” Well, I think you’re right.” he said, looking slightly amused, ” All the Christmas decorations are in the basement, I could bring them up here and we can decorate the house, put the tree up.” Mason said, ” If you’re in the mood for it.” he said.

As Mason wrapped an arm around her, Marcie leaned back a little, resting her head against his shoulder. “Mmhmm,” She replied, agreeing with a nod of her head. “I’m sure we can do that, then we can just get it out the way. Packing is more stressful than I thought it would be. I guess we’re pretty lucky you already have a house.” She told him. Marcie knew that things would’ve been completely different if both of them didn’t have a place to themselves. When Mason suggested that they could put up the decorations tonight if they wanted, she gave him a quick nod. “Well I know you’re not much of a Scrooge, so let’s do it.” She agreed before getting up from the couch, turning to face him. “I’ll help you get the things from the basement.” She said, before leaning in slightly to grab hold of his hands to pull him up from the couch. “Come on, moose.” She said in a playful tone, a small smirk on her face.

After a few weeks or so of packing and getting ready to move, Marcie had finally gotten her belongings over at Mason’s house. For most of her life, she’d been used to living somewhere with the company of her sister. However, things had changed, and it was time to move on from the past; she knew her Kira could look after herself. Most of her things had been unpacked in their bedroom, a box still left to sort through, however that would just have to wait until tomorrow, she’d had enough unpacking for one day. Making her way down the stairs quickly, she swiftly turned the corner and made her way into the living room. “I’m done with unpacking for one night.” She told Mason, making her way over to the couch before sitting down next to him. “I know it’s kinda’ early, buuut I think our place is lacking Christmas decorations.” She commented, raising one eyebrow slightly.
